When we have a client with the following condition: epilepsy

  • Strange sensations – such as a “rising” feeling in the tummy, unusual smells or tastes, and a tingling feeling in your arms or legs

Description

Epilepsy is a common condition that affects the brain and causes frequent seizures.
Seizures are bursts of electrical activity in the brain that temporarily affect how it works.

They can cause a wide range of symptoms.

Clients with these condition require particular care. Although epilepsy is usually well controlled with medication, the client should be observed at all time as there is a risk of seizure.

Is epilepsy contagious?
No, "epilepsy" is NOT contagious!
