When we have a client with the following condition: abdominal hernia

Signs and symptoms for abdominal hernia

  • Swelling or fullness at the hernia site
  • Aching sensation (radiates into the area of the hernia)
  • No true pain or tenderness upon examination
  • Enlarges with increasing intra-abdominal pressure and/or standing

Description

An abdominal hernia is a bulge or swelling. It happens when some of the contents inside your abdomen (tummy), such as fat or bowel, push through a weakness in your abdominal wall.

The lump can often be pushed back in or disappears when you lie down. Coughing or straining may make the lump appear.

Is abdominal hernia contagious?
No, "abdominal hernia" is NOT contagious!
